Hear Her Voice

The Hear HER Voice research started with a partnership with YouthZone, where we were approached to use our experience in amplifying girls’ voices to conduct a research project to identify how girls can be made to feel welcome within the upcoming Crewe YouthZone (The Dome).
While working on the YouthZone project, It became clear how powerful it was for our young researchers, and other young people to be provided with opportunities to have their voices heard, especially on the topics that effect them the most, such as community development decisions, education, and access to services and leisure.
After identifying this need we knew we had to be active in creating opportunities for young Women and girls to have a platform to be heard by organisations, services, and local decision makers, and more.
In addition to the research conducted for Crewe YouthZone we have now hosted an additional five Hear HER Voice sessions, and provided many young Women and girls the opportunity to speak out about a range of topics that have an impact on them.
All research conducted has been provided to local decision makers to ensure that girls’ lived experience, preferences, and concerns are taken into account within the local area, and to empower girls by giving them opportunities to influence positive change within their communities.
